Stratocaster and Les Paul Comparison

In today’s blog I am going to do a comparison between a Stratocaster Guitar and a Les Paul guitar. The two guitars a am going to talk about are guitars that I have. I have played both of them and they both sounded pretty good. Even though they are just guitars and you think that guitars are the same, well these two guitars are a little bit different. All guitars are not the same because there are all kinds of different shapes and sizes. If all the guitars are the same, why do guitarists have more than one guitar. All guitars have that unique sound and tone to the strings. Today I am going to tell you the comparison.

First I am going to talk about the Stratocaster. The Stratocaster everybody wants, not literally every single one but most. The Stratocaster has that rock and roll flavor body. The guitar feels a little bit light, but not that much. I like this guitar because it has a whammy. A whammy on a guitar is what makes the string bend to make that crazy whammy sound. The Stratocaster is known by the whammy. The guitar cost about $500 and up, it's good for performance and good for look. Artist such as Jimmy Hendrix made The Stratocaster really famous in 1969. After that, people loved the Stratocaster because people would know this was a good guitar.

Les Paul is a classic guitar. For a long time, people in blues bands uses this guitar to play that smooth sound and clean feeling. I have used this guitar for about a year and I have seemed to like this guitar. This guitar can hold a note longer than the Stratocaster. The reason for that is that this guitar does not have a whammy, so the whammy bar on the bottom of the guitar won’t stop the vibration of the strings to soon. The Les Paul was used by artist Slash. He is one of the best guitar players and he made Les Paul very popular. This cost about $500 and up also but depends what style of music you would like to play, it's good for the prize and this guitar can be good for blues music. Actually you can play any kind of style of music on Les Paul guitars.

Pros on Stratocaster: What I really like about the Stratocaster is that it has the whammy. The whammy can really give that crazy sound and that’s what I like about it. Another thing I like about this guitar is that it has that rock and roll look.

Cons on Stratocaster: What I don’t like about Stratocaster is that the guitar can't hold a note as long as the Les Paul. The guitar is light but I can’t feel the weight of the guitar and I like to feel the weight. These are the only problems in Stratocaster.

Pros on Les Paul: What I like about the Les Paul is that the guitar can hold a note longer that the Stratocaster. If I was to perform and I’m in a solo, or want to play a song that has a long note playing, Les Paul is the one.

Cons on Les Paul: What I don’t like about the Les Paul is that this guitar does not have the whammy. The fun is the whammy and without it is just plain.
